The Southern men’s rugby team has taken over campus—and they look great doing it. Not only have they finished the season outscoring the competition154 to 5 in the past four games, they’ve acquired quite the following of loyal fans. Rugby games, which once only had a few people in attendance, now draw a vast crowd of students, faculty and staff—even President Norton made a cameo at the last game. A couple weeks ago, Student Government came out and sponsored their game, confirming the teams’ growing popularity.

Yankees vs. Red Sox
After what was one of the nicest spring weekends of the year, the New York Yankees find themselves in a cloudy haze after leaving Boston late Sunday night. The Boston Red Sox showed everyone in New England they aren’t the same team that finished in third place in the American League East during the 2006 season. This weekend turned into a Fenway frenzy as the Red Sox swept the Yankees right out of Boston.

How quickly things can be turned upside down.
A few short weeks ago, we were praising the Lady Owls – the national champion Lady Owls. This team was built to repeat, a likely preseason No. 1 going into 2007- 2008. One senior, Babette Noah, was to be the only departure – leaving behind a growing championship nucleus.

Joe Frager is leaving for Fairfield University after nearly a decade of roaming the Owls sidelines. Frager is
moving closer to home and will be taking over his first Division I head coaching position of his career.
